Reese's first Christmas party at school and my 17th birthday party

Mom, Reese, and I at my birthday party

She's the red and white thing hugging Santa. I was at a bad angle. Never expected her to HUG him...

Me at my birthday party.

Starting out with Reese...

Reese had her first Christmas party at school on Friday. I went and ended up staying 'til naptime, which was a fair time after the 2 other adults left and the party was pretty much over. Reese had a good time. I wasn't there for the gift swap, but her teacher, Mrs. T, said that it seemed to overwhelm her a bit. This is all new to her though. A Santa Claus came to their classroom and she did something I NEVER anticipated. First, she shook his hand. Then, she told him he brought her the dress she had on (Mom calls it her Santa Claus dress...). Then, she HUGGED him! Every other time she's seen Santa, she's cried and said she did not want to get near him. We figure it must be because her surroundings were familiar and the people around her were familiar.

That evening, we met some friends to go out and eat Chinese to celebrate my 17th birthday. It was really great seeing everyone. Thanks for coming. I had a fun time and I hope everyone else did too. Also, Kim, Bryan, and girls: thanks for the presents.
