Fillings and Surgeries
Reese had her first filling done today. She did wonderfully. They did one small one to see how she'd do with it, because if she panicked, she would need to be sedated to do them. But she was a real trooper. Got lots of comments from the dentist who was very impressed with how she did. And I was impressed with how the staff was with her. They were great. She goes back on the 23rd to get one or two of the bigger three cavities filled before they get worse and start hurting. She has a 5th cavity that's so tiny, they're just going to leave it alone for now and watch it, since she's so young. This is what 2.5 years in China with probably limited dental care will do. And we didn't want to take her right away because we wanted her to understand good English first, so she would understand what was going on and not be so confused. But all in all, not bad.
Dad also had his hernia surgery this morning. He's doing fine. In pain, of course, but doing good. But, when you've been sliced right through your ab muscles, yeah, it's going to hurt. Everything is going to hurt. Darn those core muscles. And he can't eat until his stomach starts making noise. So, he's not real happy about that. But, it's better that than puking because that would REALLY hurt. But he's doing well. Should be home in 2 or 3 nights. Then 3 weeks off, and then probably light duty for a while.
